I forgot to add that once you are in the control panel/sound and open the
recording tab you will need to select line in from the recording devices
list and then choose the properties button.  Then you will find the listen
tab.  Sorry for the oversight.  No pun intended!  Grin.

Subject: Realtec sound cards

 

I have a realtec sound card in my machine. The one problem I have with it is
i cannot figure out how to use the line-in feature -- that is, plugging in a
cassette recorder into the sound card and getting it to let me record from a
cassette recorder or other source and hear the audio over the sound card. I
can record, I just can't hear the audio coming into the computer.

 

I've had a technician and a computer-savyv friend try to figure this out
with no luck. any ideas?
