Hi Sandra,

Yes, I meant the Window-Eyes factory defaults. But only if you don't see the backspace key defined in your global cursor key settings. As I said, that's a default which is applied to all set files. So if it's not there, something is messed up. On the other hand, if everything else is working fine, and you have other cursor keys defined, such as: arrow keys, maybe the backspace accidentally got undefined.

So first go through all of your cursor keys and see if the backspace is there or not. If it is, make sure it's set to: Prior character before. If it is, try increasing the cursor delay. If it isn't, create it and make that assignment.

Hth,
Tom

Good morning Tom. Do you mean install the default settings for all of window-eyes or something else. You didn't say. If I do that, it takes it all back to it's factory settings I really don't want to do that. Even if I copy the settings I have then put them back in I might just take me back to where I am now. Which would that I might still have the same problem. So tell me exactually which default settings you were talking about. Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Kingston" <[email protected]>

Regarding the backspace key? Make sure it's defined in cursor keys. It should be the first key listed and be set to: Prior character before. This is a default setting. So if it's not there I'd reinstall the default settings. If it is there, try upping cursor delay a bit. Also, it's global by default. So you could look under cursor keys, options, and make sure the radio buttun: If program cursor key is not found then search global cursor keys, is on.

As far as making a selection in the find combo-box? I can't say. It's working fine here.

Regards,
Tom

Good morning all. It seems that when I'm backspacing over something. the backspace key does not identify what it's backspacing over. Any ideas on what I need to do? Also, when I do control shift-f to find something, the arrow keys don't speak anything when arrowing. up or down. I guess what I mean is: for example, if I have done ctrl-shift-F more than once since I had \ turned on the computer that day, It says find so and so one of two. If I arrow up and down for the correct one, the arrow keys have no speech. Any ideas on this? Hope this makes since. thanks.
