Hmm,
I’m running Office 2003 on my XP machine and aside from giving me an error with Excel still when I change workbooks too often, things seem to be fine. I do have a similar error though with Office 2007 and Windows 7 in that when I am working in a Word docx file, for no apparent reason, WE7.5 will stop talking and just make a dinging noise. The only way to get this to stop is to use the control-up and down arrows a few times. The screen is maximized and Word is in normal mode, or whatever normal mode is in 2007. Sometimes though if I down arrow, I hear things from Outlook and Excel if they are open. I keep Outlook 2003 open all day. As soon as I open a Word document with Word 2003, We 7.5 goes wonky. For example in moving up and down the list of messages in my inbox We does not read them any longer, it just reads one as if it is in a buffer of some kind. Also If I open the insert file or open file dialogue WE does not read the contents of the file list unless I press a read current line hot key every time I move the cursor up or down. The only work around I have is to turn off WE and load it again. The good news is that this now puts Window-Eyes on par with a major competitor's text to speech application (smile).
