The cheaper ones are almost plug and play. Only the really expensive ones will have drivers to support the higher-end features. A good rule-of-thumb is that if it comes with a disk it might need a driver, however I've bought two USB headsets so far and one USB Audio dongle and none of them have had a disk and all have been plug and play on Windows 2000 and up.

Hey all,
When I purchase one of those little $10 soundcads that plug into the
USB port, are they plug and play, or do I need to install something?
Thanks, take care.
