Steve C,

It may be working correctly now. After I made my report I reconfigured to global settings for the options I wrote about. Then I redid it again, using the same program settings for those two options, then I saved the set file. . Now things work as expected.

However, to answer your question, I'm editing this message now and will go to the WE control panel with ctrl-backslash.

OK, here are the results:
Set file is: MSOE001.set
next tab says Association: by class - Ath_note

Is it working correctly now? Seems to be.

Steve,

When you are in an Outlook Express message, bring up Window-Eyes, go to the Association node of the settings tree, and select Current Association. What is shown there?

Steve

Hello gw staff and folks,
7.5.1 seems to be working quite well, no loss of speech, which was a
problem for me with 7.5.
Later, I'll give a fuller report on the responsiveness of 7.5.1.
But I have a question, possbily a problem, perhaps I am miss
understanding the program versus global setting, maybe there is a
problem with 7.5.1
In outlook express, I changed the keyboard voice to "on with words
interupt:, and the pitch of the screen keyboard to 0.
My previous setting was keyboard voice to have each letter spoken, I
think option 2, and pitch was set to 3, and these were global settings.
The steps I took to make the change:
While editing an outlook express message I hit ctrl-backslash.
I arrowed down to keyboard in the tree and opened up the voice
subsection of that node.
I changed the voice toggle to program, then made the change to item 7 in
the nexxt combo box.
Then I tabbed to pitch and toggled that to program and set it to 0
instead of 3.
I saved the settings.
My problem is this: Now when I edit in notepad or wordpad, or type
characters in the windows run dialog, or use ctrl-o in internet explorer
to open a webpage, or enter data in a search field on the web, I get "on
with words interupt" just like in outlook express, and I get the typing
with pitch 2. Essentially, anytime I use the keyboard, no matter what
setting, I get the results described above.
When I open up the WE control panel while in one of these other
programs, to look at the settings, keyboard voice is set to global, with
on with words interupt, and keyboard pitch is set to global with setting 2.
Is there some set file conflict, or does the same setfile control the
keyboard speech?
Any ideas?
Thanks much,
Steve
