The Cepstral voices are compromises all over the place, so not smooth
as the newer generation voices, from Accapella, VoiceText and others,
even Scansoft. David is fair, Lawrence, as British is not bad
either, but they are compromises, intending to take as little memory
or as little resources as possible yet being generally human
sounding. The Ivona voices, as I say are another evolution, since
they are much better at contextual speaking, making more sense of
where commas and question marks are placed to speak in context, words
which the others just do not do as well.

i think xp only supports sapi 4. this could be the problem. sapi 5
voices do not do well with the sapi 4 speech engine.
it will be slow to respond and be very distorted.

I would Caution anyone thinking of buying Ivona voices for slower
computer to use with WE. I just purchased Ivona Joey and installed
it on my XP 1.7MH computer with 1 MB of memory and it is sluggish,
stutter and crackles. I suspect it takes a lot of system recourses.
I would suggest you download and try the demo first. You can't get a
refund if you purchase and then decide you don't like it.
