Just a bit of followup on my previous message. I did try to open a Microsoft word document in Ashampoo's equivalent to Word - called Text Maker. It read just fine, and with no sluggishness. I could easily move around with the arrow-keys, and had no problem in running a Read-To-End of the document. From that little test, it seems that at least the text editor of this suite is pretty accessible. Now if the spreadsheet would be as well, we would have a workable solution for non-Microsoft'ers.

I just had a look at the Office 2010 suite from Ashampoo.com. They do offer a thirty-day trial version for everyone. The price for the suite seems to be US$50. Quite a difference from Microsoft. So, I downloaded and installed the suite, to see what it was alike. So far, I did open a spreadsheet of mine (created in Microsoft Excel), in the corresponding program, called Ashampoo Plan Maker. The spreadsheet opened just fine, and when moving the mouse, I can read the different lines. But moving with the keyboard seems to be useless, in that no speech is giving any feedback as to which cell I am in, or what the content is. Just wonder, if there would happen to be anyone out there, with better knowledge than me, who could have a look. Is there any chance to make this suite operable with WE, either by set files or a small app. It would have been great, since that would have meant a cheap alternative for those who don't have the money for a Microsoft Office suite. I have been running Ashampoo's free Firewall for a couple of months now, and it seems quite accessible, although mouse intensive. This gives me the idea, that there could have been cances of having their Office suite made accessible somehow. Also, it seems that you easily can get in touch with the developers, so maybe some kind of fruitful communication could be established. I'd leave the idea with someone who is more knowledgeable and has more time and energy for the project, than do I. At least, since they offer thirty days trial, there should be a chance for someone to figure what could be done to make it accessible with WE.
