Also Shannon, I've noticed a lot of "weirdness" such as you describe happens
if the window is not maximized; so just see if that's the case with your
Word (and let us know please if you find out anything).

Hi Shannon,
I’m not sure about word 2010 but, in some of the olders versions when I
could still see a little changing to the high contrast black did cause some
crazy things to happen. Like I said I don’t change the color anymore and am
using office 2003. You may try changing back to the default color just to
see if it makes any difference. It really shouldn’t and I think that problem
was fixed a long time ago but it couldn’t hurt to see if it makes any
difference.

Subject: Word 2010 problems

Good morning,
I am having a continuous problem with word 2010.
If I open a new document in word I hear Microsoft Word document one custome
control.

Pressing the alt key results in Ribbon Ribbon property page, not the
expected home tab.
Down arrowing in this blank document results in
page 1 of 1, colibery body eleven file page one of one.
If I type in to the document I can hear what I am typing but I can’t hear
any back spacing over text and when trying to read what was typed I hear.
page one colibery body file and the first line of the text on down not what
is at the curser position. It always starts at the top.

I have tried to redraw the screen and no change.
I have also tried to get WE to detect the curser and it says that no curser
is detected.
I have set the set highlight color hot key and set that to detect the
selected text and it does report that the highlight is set but that doesn't
help WE find the text of the curser either.
This happens all the time.

Now the funny thing is that if I open a second document all works. I hear
Document 2 style normal, page one of one, column one of one, print layout,
document 2 blank.
This is an excellent work around for a new document I am creating but it
will not work for another situation I find my self in all the time.

Our accounting program uses templates and uses the data base to create
invoices and letters in word.

If I use one of these templates and create a document for a client I can’t
read it.

It opens as document one and all the symptoms of the above document one
synario happen.

I can’t proof or add to the document created like this.

They do open in compatibility mode is the only difference. The templates
are set for the word 97 2000 formatting.

As I am typing this email I have both document one and document 2 open and
tabbing back and forth will not change anything. Document one is impossible
to deal with but document 2 is fine.

While having these two word docs open and also run the reports through word
that would appear to be doc three I will hear that it is doc three.

This way it does work as does doc 2 but if I don’t have at least 2 documents
already open I am unable to do anything with the generated reports.

Has anyone had such dealings with word acting like this? I have done the
updates through Microsoft and I had a couple to do yesterday that I did but
they didn't resolve any of my problems.

This is a hp Compaq dx2200 mt,

If any one has anything similar and has any thoughts as to what is happening
I would appreciate knowing about it, and if any one knows how to make it
stop I would LOVE love love it.
I can open three docs but I don't think I should have to do that

Thanks and sorry about the length
Shannon
