You gotit for me. A friend of mine and I always have this happen. I'll write this down as instructions so we can do this every time we get a major upgrade or something. It sure fixed it.

        Thanks, Jeff.

Take care,

Brenda

Run the Winamp installer.

Select Full when choosing the type of installation.

Now arrow down to the Library Library node and expand it.

Now arrow down to Portable Media Player support and expand the tree.

Uncheck Portable Media players.

Continue with the installation.

This should resolve the issue for you.

Subject: winamp and Window-Eyes 7.5.1

Hello. There is a problem with the latest version of Winamp and
Window-Eyes and I do not think it's a script problem.

What happens is this. Right now, I have a portable flash drive in my

usb port. Winamp detects that it has mp3 files on it.

The portable options box or whatever it is, comes up and says:

Winamp sees drive E:\ audiobooks as a portable device. Do you want
Winamp support for this drive?"

I don't think that's exactly what it says, but I want to turn that
box off, because to answer yes or no, we can't until we close two or
three windows to get there. Another screen reader answers right away.
Is there a way to turn that portable device detector off? If I try to
shut Winamp down with that on, I'll get:

There has been an error in Winamp and Winamp needs to be shut down"

All because I didn't answer yes or no to the question that I didn't
want winamp to support this device. I wish we could get to that
screen easily to answer yes or no, but if there is a place to turn
that off, I wouldn't mind it. I went into the winamp preferences and
am not sure that I found a place.

I Wouldn't ask this on here, but since I can't read the screen in
Window-Eyes, that's why I'm asking the question.

Take care and thanks. Anyone who wants to tell me off list can,
because I want that thing turned off if possible. I don't have
anything like an mp3 player that hook up to my computer. These are
just little flash drives.

Thanks,

Brenda
