Hello guys,
Thanks to GW-Micro for this latest upgrade! It has some great new
features and fixes. I've noticed that my IE8 instances hanging hasn't
happened at all yet since the other day which is very encouraging.
Although I haven't yet tried it, I am also pleased to see that
remote assistance is available now under XP for those of us who haven't
moved to Seven yet.
I have noticed that in general, WE does seem to be more responsive
than it was, though maybe this is just me.
However, I'm noticing a few issues with Thunderbird 8, having just
upgraded to it after I assumed it was likely safe to do so. When I
compose a message, the auto-suggestions for filling in an E-mail address
are no longer spoken as they were previously. Also, when opening
messages once I press enter on the message I want to open I seem to have
to press tab then press shift tab and arrow up and down a couple times
before WE seems to go to browse mode and start reading the message.
When composing a message as I'm experiencing as I write this message to
the list, I see that WE seems to not be able to read what I've written
unless I press shift-tab, then tab again to hear it say "message area"
after which all is fine again for a while.
I've noticed since the upgrade that I'm seeing a pause of a few
seconds when I move around in text files in Notepad or if I arrow up and
down, or use control-left/right arrow to move by word. I'm not sure why
this is happening and just thought I'd ask if it's just something I need
to change. I tried a different keyboard in case maybe it was my usual
keyboard doing it but unfortunately the issue still continues. I have
insured that Notepad is maximized as I usually do. I've also noticed
this in another application which has a read-only text window that you
can arrow around in to read information in a terminal-window-style. I'm
not sure what might be causing this and am debating completely
uninstalling WE from my system, then re-installing from disk (7.5) and
upgrading directly back to 7.5.2. Would anyone on this list be able to
confirm or deny my observations and does anything have any other
suggestions before I attempt a full reinstallation? I'd prefer not to
have to do that but am wondering if maybe something went wrong during
the upgrade process somehow.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions and happy Thanks
Giving to those US residents out there.
Cory
