I've seen sites that work better with one or the other. Perhaps an app
or future release could include a hokey to toggle this behavior, so we
could have the best of both worlds.

in the first place: just an honest error or oversight or was there an
actual attempt to fix or change or undue something that, by flipping the
number, is being undone?
