Very true, James. Although we think it will be a welcome gift for all.
Although, just so there's no confusion, it's not chocolate. <grin>

Well this is fun, I can't help but think it is a slippery slope to be
speculating in that one could easily set expectations too high and
then in a way be disappointed. Not ungrateful, they don't have to give
us anything, but like for example if one's employer promised such a
gift and you speculated a day off and they passed out candy bars, in
some ways that would suck. You would be thankful for the candy bar,
but you would be more thankful for it if you hadn't hoped it was a day
off.

I'm guessing it's some kind of app or small piece of software for
more general use with more than type of screen reader. This is
because they are making so big a deal about tomorrow.

Hello fellow Window eys users. I have been giving some more thought
to what GW Micro could possibly be announcing tomorrow and I think
that I will throw it out to the list to see what the rest of you think.

I keep going back to Jeremy's original message about the
announcement and I can't seem to get away from the fact that he
says that this is a Christmas present to "ALL BLIND PEOPLE". This
could mean several things, but I am thinking that is may be about
Window Eyes itself. Does this mean that GW Micro is going to
announce that WE 8 is ready to go into a beta cycle? I really
don't thin so, but I could be wrong.

I gave some thought to what Don posted on Friday about GW
Micro open sourcing Window Eyes, but I don't think that this is
what they are going to do. I however do not think that this idea
is a stupid idea as one list member said. I do however think that
they could have some big news for the blindness community at
large. More specifically the blind computer user.

I think that GW Micro may be getting ready to announce that
they have been in negotiations with Microsoft and they have reached
a deal with Microsoft to license Window Eyes to Microsoft for use
in all future versions of Windows. I say this because I can
remember that when Microsoft made the announcement about releasing
Windows 8 inn mid 2012 that there was talk or maybe I read it
somewhere that there would be a much more robust screen reader in
Windows 8. I know that this idea may seem way out there but I
thought that it would make for some good conjecture on the list.

Please lets hear what everyone thinks of this idea, and if
you think that it could be possible. Think about the possibility
of having a copy of Window Eyes on every PC sold. To me that would
seem like a no brainer, and also I think that GW Micro would be
able to get some more software engineers to work on Window Eyes moving
forward.

Just my thoughts. I will be listening tomorrow when they
make their announcement.
