GW does work with MS on things they can actuallly do. You're forgetting a much larger picture here. MS isn't the manufacturer of the sound chips. They certainly are not in any control over the drivers that control the hardware. Companies can have their drivers signed but that doesn't absolutely mean that there won't be conflicts with other drivers or programs on the specific machine. Sound issues are far beyond MS and GW alone. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don H" <[email protected]>

With general computer operations sound is not too important for a non screen reader user. Since it is so important for us WE users it would seem to me that GW should be pushing a solution from Microsoft. GW has stated in the past that they work closely with Microsoft so why not now?

I agree. I had to help someone's mother with their computer, and they'd
lost sound. They were sighted, and didn't use any screen reader.

Hi,
There has been an on-going issue with win 7 and loosing sound. Even
those not running screen readers have had the experience of loss of sound.

Also using realtec sound card which also could be causing the crashes.
