Hi Neville,

Not a WE app, but you can buy a Word add-in (whose name is something like
classic menu) which tries to give you back the 2003 menus in 2010. 

GW does sell a book on use of Word with WE which does explain the ribbon,
you might be better off buying that, since you can then talk with other Word
users and understand what they're referring to on the menu.  There are
probably new features that the classic menu can't give you access to.
