The problem is that synthesizers vary considerably with how they pronounce things; the best example being that my DecTalk USB pronounces it correctly. So I'm going to roll the dice and guess that you're using Eloquence. Here's the best sounding quick replacement I could come up with.
simoane
Which by the way has the exact opposite effect on my DecTalk.

Hi, I have a friend on my email lists, and on facebook who's name is
Simone. Spelled S I M O N E .
I have tried to have WE repronounce the name as it should be voiced, but
it somes out sounding like it it spelled S I M M O N .
The only alternative I have come up with is spelling it
SIM MOAN. And I don't like the way that sounds.
Anyone have any suggestions, or should I just deal with the way WE
pronounces it naturally?
Thanks
