"App Starting" is just a label for a particular pointer shape. I have gone
into the dictionary on some systems and shortened that message to
"starting", which is enough to tell you that something is happening. I
think Window-Eyes would have to do a lot more work to determine what
process is starting at that moment, and often its name would be more
gibberish to the average user. When I want to know a little more about
which processes are running, I go into Task Manager and look at the list
under the second tab, Processes. If I don't want to go into that much
detail, I also associate Windows sound events with the program starting and
program closing events. These can be short clicks, pings or pops that are
informative and entertaining without being too disruptive. When running any
modern operating system, you would be amazed at how much is going on behind
your back!
