Hello Mike,
It sounds like you might have a more serious problem at hand.
Specifically, a virus or similar malicious application has done
something to your computer. If possible, I would suggest using the
rescue disk to save all of your important data to another hard drive,
reformat the existing system drive, and reinstall Windows. Before
copying anything back to the machine you will want to run an in-depth
virus scanner to be doubly certain that the offending badware has been
removed.
