You have to have a plug in called out mp3.exe to convert them back to mp3's.

Thanks. You're right about the amount of space the files would take up. What I'm hoping is that the device in the car would then accept a CD with these files, and convert them for storage the way it does for commercially produced CD's. Since you know more about Winamp than I do, is there a way to convert MP3 files back to the original format on the CD? I under stand that there is a lot of compression to make MP3 files, and there might be some loss when converting them back. Perhaps it wouldn't matter in a car situation.

You have to go in to the output options of Winamp in order to do this. Not sure why you would want wav files since they take up some space on your hard drive, but,
Here are the steps.

1. Open Winamp.
2. Press ctrl-p to bring up the preferences.
3. You will be in a treeview of options.
4. Press the letter, O, un til you hear Window eyes say, "Output."
5. Tab twice and up arrow to the plug in that says NullSoft disk writer.
6. By default, I believe the files will save in my documents unter music. I can't remember. See if you can configure where the files should be saved.

I have Window-Eyes version 7.5.4, and I'm using Windows XP. I've been told that there is a way using Window-eyes and Win amp to convert "MP3 files to "wav" format. I created a play list, and I clicked the "send to" option, however, there is no option for a format converter. I'm using Winamp version 5.63 which I downloaded today. Is this option now gone? If anyone who has experience with this could contact me off-list, I'd appreciate it. I'm trying to convert some files, because the "juke box" (I think it's a hard drive) will not accept "mP3" files. It will accept files from commercial CD's. Some one told me that you could get around this by converting the MP3 files to "wav" format. That's what I'm trying to do. Any ideas would be appreciated.
