Bob,
I would think the tuner would work as long as it is compatible with the
Windows operating system.
I was looking for a USB TV tuner rather than a card to put inside the
computer. I went to AMAZON and put USB TV tuner in the search. Then I read
through the reviews.
I bought the Avertv Hybrid Volar Max TV Tuner Kit. I also purchased one of
the listed accessories, a Media Center Infrared Remote. This remote is not
necessary, but offers some convenience. I think the tuner works quite well
for receiving local over-the-air channels. It does have an FM radio tuner
included.

Hi,
If I use media center, does it matter which digital tv tuner card I get?

I agree that Media Center in Windows 7 is quite speech friendly once it's
set up. The most speech unfriendly part is the setup, and I would say
that
sighted assistance is desirable for this part. I am using Media Center to
receive my local over-the air channels.
You can do a Google search for Media Center keyboard shortcuts. These
shortcuts are quite helpful for switching to different sections of the
program. FM radio is also supported by Media Center if your tuner has
that
capability.

Hi Bob,
I have successfully used Windows Media Center. I will say not all in
this
program is accessible, but I can read the TV Guide. I had to have some
sighted help at first because I did not understand how the guide was
arranged. Now I am fine.

Hi,
Does anyone know of a digital TV tuner card or USB device that is
accessible
with Window-Eyes? I would like to read the program guide info that is
now
displayed by digital TV stations
Thanks,
