In fact when WE was installed we told it to use the standard keyboard.
I have also followed your suggestion but it did not help.

John,

bring up the window-eyes control pannel.

go to keyboards, and right arrow to open the tree.

arrow down to layout, and select default rather than laptop.

Save the settings.

See what happens.
