Good Afternoon,

I had a strange experience earlier today when I tried to log in to my bank's web site using IE 9, 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium, and WE 7.5.4.1. The tech support person at the bank hadn't the foggiest notion what had caused it, but suggested that some customers had better luck with Firefox, but, for some strange reason, couldn't tell me which version. I have Firefox 12 on my machine and since IE 8 and then 9 are not working well here, thought I would give Firefox a try.

I think I remember reading that following the instructions in a KB article on the GW Micro site helps make FF work better with WE, but I can't remember which version of Firefox the fix applies to or if I would be better off upgrading to the latest FF version. If I should stay with version 12, how do I tell FF not to automatically upgrade itself?

I'm also hoping to get webvisum on the Win 7 if compatibility between WE and FF versions matters.

If it is of interest to anyone, the problem I had this morning was first that my user ID worked without any problem, but when I attempted to type in my password, WE said what I typed instead of star star and the status of the edit box was correct. I eventually got that straightened out, but before the usual page came up when I am logged in, there was a message that the web site wanted to install some add on from Microsoft and before I could find out more presented me with something that appeared to be the normal page. I'd never had anything like that happen before and logged out as soon as I could and called the bank. I did a cold boot and tried again with another screen reader and was able to complete my task.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Margaret
