Peter, If nothing else appears in your search, there is an app from Jamal Mazrui called DBDialog, which lets you create your own databases with the fields you specify, and search and have reports for them.
Unfortunately it has one or two issues, and I don't think Jamal is interested in putting any more work into it; however, you may want to give it a try to see if the issues bother you or not. I was wondering if the BARD database has an XML interface; if it does, and you primarily want to list books from BARD, it could make things possibly easier for some app developer to write a specialty app for tracking books. In fact, you may go and find the BARD users email list and ask about this app there; there may already exist such a program usable by all screen readers.
