You may also need to go into view "un" check things to where you only see
the one column view. If you use folders (i.e. within your inbox), you may
have to customize each folder so that it does not automatically show the
preview pane.

I am still using Outook 2002 (upgrading soon) so I cannot offered detailed
instructions.

Subject: Problem with Outlook Mail

Good Morning,

The technical folks at the university where I work set up a new computer in
my office this week. The University now uses Gmail as our mail program
which is, as we all know, somewhat problematic. Therefore the Gmail on my
computer is downloaded to Outlook which worked fairly well on my previous
computer although I really don't like Outlook too much. However, this time
the tech person had some trouble getting things to work properly. HE first
tried Outlook 2010 but had some difficulty so went back to 2007 and thought
he had things working fine. It probably does visually but after he left and
I tried to read my mail, I discovered that I could not here the list of
messages in the inbox or any of the other folders although if I click
"blindly on the inbox or other folder a Message would come up and was
readable. My sighted assistant describes three pains on the screen or at
least I think that is what she's describing and I'm wondering if this is the
source of the problem. I thought the mail was set to open in the inbox and
I thought things had been set up according to instructions but it is true
that the tech folks are very good at what they routinely do but sometimes
have trouble with my software because it's unfamiliar. IF any of you have
any idea what the problem might be, I would appreciate any suggestions as to
how to solve it.

Thanks,

Bob Martin
