Tom,

I believe it has always been this way...just use the speak summary hotkey
control-shift-s and you'll get what you are wanting.

  I am using Window-Eyes 8 beta, Windows 7 64-bit. When I am in Windows
Explorer and press Control-Shift-M, I hear the message, “no text selected,”
when I know my cursor is on a file name. I can tell that 1 file is selected
when I read the screen with the mouse and reach the line that says “1 item
selected.” If I press Shift-Down Arrow twice, the line that the mouse is on
will tell me three items are selected. However pressing Control-Shift-M will
still say “No text selected.” I don’t think this is a problem with the beta
because it started while I was still using 7.5.4.1 However, since the beta
didn’t change this, I would like suggestions for fixing it. Thanks.
