Hi Michael,
The easiest way to keep up to date with many programmes is to use the
ninite updated from
ninite.com
Go to the web site, check the boxes for the programmes you wish to
update on a regular basis, download the updater and run this small .exe
file each week or so. It updates, including both flash programmes if you
have checked them, without any fuss. This is how Adobe Reader 11 was
obtained.
The only problem I have experienced using the updater is that sometimes
my Vipa firewall won't let it through. Or at least, I can't get
speech access to the allow buttons. It is easy to get around this
though. Go off line, turn off Vipra, turn on the Windows firewall, go
back on line, run the updater and when finished, reboot to turn Vipra on
again.
A bit of a pain but workable and still quicker than updating each
programme individually.

Neville. I noticed that you mentioned in your post that you had Adobe
11.00. Since that is indeed the case, I tried to update Adobe 10.4 or
whatever the version number is by trying to update from within the Adobe
help menu. No go.
What is the absolute best web site to keep up with updates and to download
Adobe and stay updated. I haven't had much luck with the adobe.com site.
Thanks.

Subject: Adobe Reader 11 settings
Hi,
Using W7 HP 32, WE beta and Adobe 11.0.0
Can someone help with the settings in Adobe Reader?
Upon pressing enter on a PDF link, my preferred option would be to have the
file download to my system where it could be read later. Or secondly, have
the PDF document load into Adobe Reader from where it could be saved to my
system.
However, since updating to Adobe Reader 11.0.0, all that happens is the
document opens in IE 8and the File menu cannot be access which makes saving
the file impossible. As many of these PDF files are images, it is unknown
whether the file is being loaded into IE 8, correctly.
Following is the details of the Adobe setup menu with the three options
displayed. These have been checked and unchecked in turn but there is no
difference to the end result.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks
Neville.
