Would have been great to have a comment from the staff, on why they let WE
exit Browse Mode on buttons and checkboxes. I really never got the ideaology
behind that behavior. Likely, there is something I am missing, and it seems
many of us don't get the idea. So, STAFF members, could you please enlighten
us, on what is the benefit of leaving browse mode on this kind of controls?
Maybe, if we understood the idea behind, it would have been easier to deal
with the drawbacks of the behavior. I have no problem on following the idea
on edit, combo and listboxes. On those controls, you will have to leave
browse mode, to interact with the control contents. But what is the idea on
leaving browse mode on checkboxes buttons and whatever? The only interaction
you can do here, is to check the element, and such we have been able to do
inside browse mode, for all the time I have been using WE at least. Quite
puzzled here...

This was touched on before. I think a lot of these issues come from WE
going in and out of browse mode on some elements where it does not need
to do anything. For example check boxes, buttons, radio buttons, etc.
There is no reason for WE to get out of browse mode on these elements.
I tried a survey where the radio buttons are in a table. Usually these
are easy. I set WE to read columns in tables and go into table mode.
Then use the insert arrow keys to go through the options and press the
spacebar on the radio button I want to activate. WE with automatic
browse mode enabled went nuts. It didn't know what to read and would not
stay in table mode.
I think that We only needs to kick out of browse mode when it hits an
edit box. I might be able to find an argument for combo boxes and pick
lists too.
Now if We would just work in table mode by using insert+arrow keys
without having to go in and out of table mode that would be wonderful.

Go to www.applevis.com. Press tab to the "skip to main content" link
and press enter. Press C to get to the combo box. Press tab to get to
the button. Press tab again which gets you, correctly, to the first
link following the button. Press tab again and you are taken back up
the page somewhere. Repeated presses of the tab key keep you in a loop
which consists of a few links and a button.
Running W E beta 2, Windows 7 32 bit, and I E 9.
