Yep, totally with tom on this one. Although, tom, perhaps you could
enlighten me offlist about the audio system in win7? I have mine all
piped through mixers and audiofile speakers. but yeah, no wonder the
system is crashing.

To be honest I'm not surprised be it that you're running With only 1
Gb of ram on Windows 7. And if it's a single core machine I wouldn't
expect any system with such spec's to be able to run WinAmp, Skype, a
browser, and a screen-reader, which adds another audio stream via your
synth. And if you're running all of those audio streams through a
single sound-card I'm surprised it works at all. The Windows 7 audio
sub-system is a serious downgrade from that of XP.
So I'd recommend dropping WinAmp while chatting on Skype and keeping
the load on your system as light as possible. In other words, don't
leave windows open that you're not using and use only what you need to
use for the task of the moment.
I believe the minimum recommended ram for Windows 7 is 2 Gb. And those
recommendations are for the most part unrealistic. They're what you
need to get fair performance with light processing loads.
So your system is no doubt constantly running in and out of the
virtual memory file on your hard drive just to keep running.

Tom

Hi,
i'm using 1GB of ram and 1.86GHZ processor with win7 32 bit and
wineyes 8.
and wineyes takes up large amount of resources! 70 thousand K.
that's why it's sluggish?

uh, what are the specs on your system. a crash can be caused by so
many things. if you don't have the resources to run all that you're
running, then that might be an issue. skype, if I recall, takes a lot
of ram up, unless you're using gwconnect. luckily window-eyes takes up
a small footprint, right now the wineyes.exe process on my system is
taking up...lets see, 149.22 mb. I've got 16gb on this system, so it's
all relative. maybe that helps a bit? Hell even I get crashes,
sometimes the thing just refuses to respond, but I have found that
either launching nvda as a backup can help get you out of luke warm
water, or even just waiting a bit. And trust me, patience is not a
virtue I possess in significant amounts. hth

keyboard,speech! can't recover manually,
need to restart the pc (by pressing the recet button).
and i'm noticing this since version 7.11 (7.11 is the first version

Amir,
What if you use the standard version of Internet Explorer? The
element properties dialog is available only in IE, Firefox, and
some Office applications.
