First I would suggest trying to read the focused window by pressing
control+shift+w. may be there is a message there that might provide a
clue to the problem.

If that doesn't yield any results, try shutting down, disconnecting and
reconnecting the keyboard and mouse if you have one, then power up.

Finally if the keyboard and mouse are wireless, replace the batteries or
charge them up depending on what setup you have for those devices.

Subject: problem with word 2003

Hi List,

A friend is using word 2003 and when he opens a document all he can hear
is
o.k. For some reason his numpad has become redundant. It doesn't work at
all
in any area, either on line or off line.

I'm definitly puzzled as to why his numpad is not functioning or why his

word 2003 is not working either. When he opens a word document he can
read
using the right and left arrow keys but cannot move up and down the
page.
again the numpad is silent. It does read top left etc. but other than
that
it reads no screen graphics of any kind.

If anyone could shed a light on this it would be very much appreciated.

Live long and prosper, John
