Once again I've had exceptional help from GW on a technical problem I
encountered. Jeremy, Steve and Doug helped me work through some Word 2010
settings changes that were required for WE and Word to work well together. Word
was somehow set to display track change and comments in line instead of
balloons and this was causing WE to lose focus when exiting comments after they
were written or edited. It seems, perhaps especially because of the ribbon,
that displays are getting more complex and there are more options to check and
set properly. This is, for me at least, complicated stuff. Having the kind of
technical support GW offers is just invaluable. Writing is a large part of my
job, so having effective tools to write with directly affects my livelihood.
Without tools that work well, my performance is diminished and I can't get the
job done. This morning I saw that Jeremy posted a knowledge base article on
this and I expect that will be helpful to many. GW's responsiveness is crucial
and very much appreciated. This level of support is almost unheard of in the
software field-at least I haven't encountered it with any other company.

Also, this is a good opportunity to acknowledge Chip Orange for the work he
does on the Word Advanced Features app. That app greatly improves access to
footnotes and other features and it adds some nice keyboard commands that help
to search for and land on text with specified attributes such as highlighting.
It also has a convenient way to select blocks of text. Chip has continually
improved and updated the app, often responding within a day or so to a problem
report. It's a great tool for writers.

Thank you all!
