Good work Sky and a tribute to your dedication.

I was hoping to just add functionality to existing hot keys, but your approach does make a great deal of sense. With the Focus, it should be possible to configure the navrow, behind the cursor routing buttons.

Thus: maybe - just maybe - a more useable display with Window-eyes.

Hello List. Right now, I am working on the imput for braille displays.
When you remove all the functions of the hotkeys for braille that windoweyes ships with. you can put in as many as you want. for example. I mammaged to get all 26 letters of the alphebet as well as comma and the ...sign. Its going to take a while to produce

I hate to say this to you all, but the upcoming version of Nvda, 2013.1, which is currently in its first public beta, supports a wide number of Braille displays than previously. Also, it is now possible to input in Computer Braille using Braille displays with a Braille keyboard.
I seriously think Gw Micro has some catching up to do in this area.
Just my £0.02 worth.

Greetings.

It is my strongly held belief that GW Micro has been unable to
demonstrate a continued commitment to supporting the integration of
Braille into Window-eyes.

It has been noticed that whenever users such as myself raise questions
regarding Braille displays, Braille input and Braille improvements
generally, GTW responses are noticeable by their absence.

Contrast this with users who post regarding low vision products such
as ZoomText. The response from GW staff has been, (as it should be)
prompt and I hope for the users interested in such things, helpful.

I am holding off on renewing my SMA, as features that I have asked
for, which relate to Braille, are clearly not seen as important.

Recently: I raised the matter of direct Braille input using Focus
Displays.
Several users speculated, but nothing from GW. One user offered to
try and develop the key assignments - I wonder if GW provided
suggestions to that user off list?

I have supported other users who have commented about the need for
translation, and implicitly, people have supported my suggestion that
the Braille hot keys need to be redesigned.

CSUN has almost concluded, and to the best of my knowledge - nothing
from GW Micro concerning improvements to Window-Eyes's support of
braille users.
There are other trade shows which provide ample opportunity for the
profile of Window-Eyes for Braille users to be raised.

My challenge to GW Micro, via its own listserv, is to outline to us
what the plans are for improvements to Braille Support.

Vaughan.
