Hi Lloyd,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, after the message had been sent, I realised the OS and WE versions had not been included. They are;
W7 HP 32, latest WE.

The key combinations you mentioned below have been tried but they are not as good as going through a filename letter by letter in the way that inssert plus should work. It does work however, in other places like the Desktop and inside Thunderbird.
 Cheers
Neville.

If this is Windows 8, I don't know what's happening. It sounds like WE
is getting information by means of UIA instead of the traditional
off-screen model, so it behaves as if the Explorer screen is a web
page. Does the window virtualization app help? What about using the
read relative to cursor keys, such as ctrl-numpad-6 for reading the
current word. What happens if you use ctrl-shift-S twice?

I just tried this with Windows Explorer on Windows 7 and although it
says "pointer routed to custom control", the mouse pointer is on the
file or folder name. So maybe something has changed in your View
setttings. But if this is Windows 8, all bets are off.

Subject: moving mouse to current line

Hi,

Does anyone know what is going on here?

When attempting to move the mouse pointer with insert plus to the
current line in a list of files, WE says "pointer routed to custom
control". This action places the mouse nowhere near the currently
highlighted line. It requires that I start at the bottom, where the
mouse pointer is usually placed after insert plus, and move upwards to
the highlighted line so the spelling of the file can be determined.

Insert plus seems to work as it should on the Desktop but not in a list
of files.

What can be done to get the mouse pointer to move to where it should?

Thanks

Neville.
