Hi, Steve. Thanks for the update re Skype/gwconnect. As it turns out, I'm going to Japan for a competitive sailing event, and it would have been nice to have the video portion of Skype available to us. Hope you are able to develop that portion of GWConnect soon.--Matthew Chao
>>> Stephen Clower <[email protected]> 5/13/2013 9:03 AM >>> Hello Michael, Thank you for the feedback. Please note that with Window-Eyes 8 and newer, you should be able to use OpenOffice and LibreOffice now with the support of the Java Access Bridge. Regarding GWConnect, we continue to work on this program as time allows, and we are just as eager to add video support to round out its feature set. Because our program accesses the Skype network, we are bound by certain feature and legal limitations. For instance, the Skype Kit currently does not support merging one's MSN or Facebook contacts into one's account, and we are prohibited in duplicating the desktop API's plugin system. Video, however, is a big ticket item and we hope to be able to bring it to fruition when we release the next major version. However, we will only do so when and if we find the SkypeKit video implementation reliable enough for daily use.
