sounds like you are useing firefox. the problem is all the hidden scripts running in the background. use the no script add on for firefox and you can disable them. the problem with your web page is it keeps adding new scripts after you block all of them. there is at least 6 scripts running in the background at the same time. when i used no script to block them more scripts loaded to replace the 6 that were running before. but i think only blocking the Miriam Webster dictionarie.com blocks the others from running.

Hi: Try insert-a to turn Autoload off. I know it just prevents the setfile from automatically loading but, it worked for me when I had similar problems to what you are describing. Does anyone have strategies, other than the Suspend command and frantic push of down-arrow, to cope with these pages that keep reloading? I'd refer you to any definition in the Miriam Webster dictionaries. By closing a pop-up I was able to get the one piece of info needed, but just barely. How does this increase effectiveness even for the advertiser? More importantly, what can we do about pages that are thus rendered useless?
