The start button will bring up the start screen as the windows key currently does. In Windows 8 there is no longer a start button at the lower left of the screen that has been a staple of Windows sense 95. It's interesting you can nowlog in with IE 9 because I couldn't log in with any version of IE or Firefox. The only way I could get in is through the book manager.
