This is not correct. Standard free Winamp will allow ripping at 8x. I ripped
over 600 CDs with the standard Winamp, so I am quite sure of this. It is
true that the Pro version will let you rip at unlimited speed, but the free
version does let you rip at 8x.

but only at 1X. Winamp Pro enables you to rip your CDs as fast as your
system will allow, so standard Winamp is pretty slow, but it's doable.
