Hi John,
This functionality relates to the AutoCorrect options which are buried in the Options window and depending on which office application you are using the AutoCorrect settings are under different categories. Here is a quick run-down of how you can disable automatic numbering and bulleting in Word and Outlook. 1. Alt-F, T to open the Options window 2. In Word, down arrow to Proofing. 3. Press Tab to focus the AutoCorrect options button and press Spacebar to open the associated dialog 4. Press Control-Tab until you reach the AutoCorrect as your Type tab/page 5. Use Tab to find the Automatic bulleted lists checkbox and uncheck it with Spacebar 6. Tab to the Automatic numbered lists checkbox and uncheck it with Spacebar 7. Tab to OK and press Spacebar to activate and close the dialog 8. Tab or Shift-Tab to OK to close the Options Window In Outlook, after completing step 1, down arrow to Mail. Then Tab until you reach the Spelling and AutoCorrect button and press Spacebar to activate it. Then you can follow the steps listed above starting with 3 to complete the process as it is identical to the steps in Word. I did not check to see if changing the settings in one program would make them stick in the other but maybe you can give it a try and report back to the list. Thanks, Marc Subject: changing automatic numbering and bulleting From: "john riehl" <[email protected]> Date: Tue, 18 Jun 2013 18:00:21 -0400 I'm using Office 2010 and can't find how to get into the options menu to turn off automatic numbering and bulleting. I've tried negotiating the ribbons without apparent success. Please help! John If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
