Hi Mary,

This is the setup that I've used for a number of years. It's a good fit for me
because although I prefer mac these days, I still have to teach jaws and
window-eyes. Generally, I advise my clients to pick an os and stick with it.
I don't usually endorse a duel OS solution because both OS do the main things
that people need a computer to do very well. There are only a few rare
situations, such as mine where I need both for learning and testing purposes
where I believe it to be effective having both.

Having said that, window-eyes works very well on the mac. I prefer the virtual
machine approach myself for several reasons. First, you can do the setup of a
virtual machine completely without sight as long as you have the product key
for your windows.
Second, virtual machines take up less space and are easier to back up than
bootcamp partitions.
Third, virtual machines are much better integrated with components of the mac
os. For example, it's much easier to share files between the two systems.
I also like the convenience of being able to run windows without stopping my
mac OS completely because I very seldom need my virtual machine.

One thing you'll want to do is install key remap for macbook, even if you are
running an Imac. This will automate some things such as restoring the number
pad to the right hand side of your portable keyboard. It will also let you do
nifty things like remapping the modifier keys and allowing you to use the caps
lock as an insert. If you just want to install key remap and let it fly, you
will be able to use window-eyes very comfortably. If you want more control,
there is a tutorial on the mac visionaries site on how to tweak key remap.

Hope this helps,
