I suggest that you open the file attachment from your E-mail again. Then use Save As to save the file. This option gives you control over where the file is saved. If you just use the Save option, your file is in a temporary folder though I don't know where it goes by default. A free program such as Everything maty help you find the file, but it is much easier to just use the Save As option to save the file. If you don't need the temporary file any more, you may be able to get rid of it by using Disk Clean-Up. I have saved some of the files by mistake with the Save option. I don't worry about because they are often not large files. I just save them again using Save As. Sorry I'm a bit hazy on some of the details.

Subject: OT: File attachment location

Is there someone on this list who can tell me where Thunderbird stores
attachments? A guy tried sending me a text document on Outlook, but it
was stripped out of the post to me because it is an attachment. So he
re-sent the file with a .xxx extension. But now I can't seem to find it
in Windows 7. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

John
