Hi Bud, 

It sounds to me like it's the change from browse mode to not browse mode. When 
you go into an edit box so you can type (if you want to), WE automatically 
takes you out of browse mode and makes a sound to let you know. Then when you 
do the CTRL-SHIFT-A to go back into browse mode, you get the sound again.  You 
can adjust what you hear when this happens in the verbosity menu of the WE 
control panel. It can be just sound or sound and speech or I'm not sure what 
else off hand but I had to fix it on one of my computers the other day so I 
know it can be done.
