That's been a feature since 8.0. You can set it back to the old way, I just
don't remember how off the top of my head.

Subject: WE does not say "brows mode on or off."
Every time I hit the hot key control-shift-A, instead of saying brows
mode on or off, as in WE-7.5.4.1, it simply makes a funny noise, and does
turn it on or off. But isn't it supposed to act as before? Using WE-8.4,
my Christmas gift from wife and children. O, and I do love the pleasant
chime sound indicating that WE is about to announce itself.
