When I am typing an E-mail, saving a document, printing a document adding files
in Winamp, etc., I often get a high-pitched tone. The only way to stop this is
to at least complete the action I am taking. Sometimes, I must Alt-Tab out of
the program or hit the Windows Key. Occasionally, I must close and restart
Window-Eyes. This occurs whether any apps are running or not. It occurs with
Window-Eyes 8.4 and has been occurring in previous versions of Window-Eyes. I
don’t remember when it started, but possibly as early as 8.0. Sometimes, the
tone isn’t anything more than a nuisanfce as it is now. Other times, my
computer freezes, and I must take other actions. When I send this E-mail, the
beeping tone will probably stop. It is a beeping tone at regular intervals. I
have Windows 7 64-bit Pro. In facgt, the tone just started for no particular
reason while I am typing this E-mail. I don’t hear this tone when sighted
persons are using my computer without Window-Eyes ru
nning, and I haven’t heard it with NVDA, though I haven’t used it extensively.
Any help would be appreciated.
