Proposal WindowEyes Spanish training/support
Dear to whomever it may concern in GwMicro:
Off and on I've heard about WindowEyes, and always been curious to try
it out since there have been little things about Jaws and others, I
haven't really liked, especially the fact how other screen readers
bundle more than screen reading funcions in the product, whereas
Windoweyes leaves the end user to decide, via the Windoweyes apps, what
he/she wants to include in WindowEyes.
But what I mostly really liked, thus thanks to it I and other blind
Spanish friends have tried and really loving WindowEyes, is the Global
Initiative in which via having Microsoft Office 2010 or above, one can
have a free copy of WindowEyes!
Because Jaws and other blindness products here in Latinamerica, are way
too expensive to afford especially because the blind people's
opportunities to work and earn money aren't that great, it saddens me
that most of us have to go via the pirated program route, thus
WindowEyes via the Global Initiative, gives us opportunities to
integrate ourselves in the computer world, and as said in the Press
Release, take advantage of the ever-increasing use of computers in
everyday life, by having a free and legal screen reader solution!
Training however in Spanish I feel is lacking; on several Spanish lists
in which I've talked about WindowEyes, it's sad how almost all of the
blind still have myths of what WindowEyes has to offer, preferring NVDA
or stick with the Jaws software, when you can have a great screen reader
for free and most important, legally.
Thus my proposal would be if is there a possibility I could work or
colaborate with you in providing Spanish training, and maybe somehow
spread the word? Even better, because I feel that's very important to be
congruent using a product one trains on, and because the person who is
the WindowEyes support here in Mexico seems to be sighted, maybe be a
part of your WindowEyes Spanish support staff? It'd be great if in the
future, the position might be paid, or maybe some kind of compensation?
I'm a Psychology major, and have been searching for work for some years,
but because of the stereotypes of how what we can do and can't, I
haven't been able to find work; since I really like blindness technology
(transmitting the benefits of using thus the congruence I talked about
earlier), thus the combination of my Educational psychology background
(being able to design/implement training programs), my abilities to
empasize with others, and my love of recording podcasts/publishing to
help teach, these qualifications I feel qualify me for the position if
not created yet, maybe you would consider creating/implementing?
