try attaching the drive restart your computer and plug it back in. also try
checking the status of the drive in disk management, if it has gone raw you
will need to reformat it. there are tools out there that can recover your
files before you reformat it or try and fix it.

Hi Jed,

Hey guys,
OK, this is disturbing, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas.
I've ahd an external harddrive, that has been working fine. Just used it
yesterday, and I always leave it hooked up.
I have a thing that's coming up now, that's saying you have to format this
disc in order to use it. This makes no sense. I don't want to click on
it,
cause I don't want to lose any data.
Any suggestions on what to do?
