Hi, I am very happy with how Window Eyes is working for me using Word. I am really struggling in getting to get it to work for me in Outlook. I started to follow the directions listed below and I got messed up somewhere. I am not sure how to fix it. I am not convinced that I want to read messages as web pages and go through all of the steps outlined below. I have been a JAWS user and I am comfortable just pressing enter on an email message and pressing the down arrow to read the message.
I hope that makes sense. Can anyone help me with the instructions on how to get WE to read the email messages properly in Outlook? I would like to arrow up and down the list of emails hearing who the message is from and if it has been read or not. Press enter on the email and be able to listen to the contents of the email. Thanks Keith Microsoft Outlook 2010: Please note that since Word is used as the email reading engine, Emails are read just like Word documents instead of web pages. This means that Browse mode is not used. If you want to view an Email using Browse mode, it must be opened in the IE engine. To do this, press Alt-H, then A, then V. You will need to do this for each message you want to view using Browse mode. The following should be changed to make things read better. - Turn off the preview/reading pane by doing the following: Press ALT-V, followed by P, followed by N. Press Down arrow until you reach the Off item, then press Enter. Please note that you will need to do this for each folder. - Set Outlook to load directly in your inbox by doing the following: 1. Press ALT-F for the File tab. 2. Press T for Options. 3. Press A for Advanced. 4. Press Tab 4 times until you reach the Browse button. 5. Press Space. 6. Press I until you get to Inbox. 7. Press Enter. 8. Press Tab to move to the OK button. 9. Press Enter. - To quickly access the Inbox from anywhere in Outlook, press CTRL-SHIFT-I - To quickly move between messages and folders, press CTRL-TAB or F6 If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only. If your reply would benefit others on the list and your message is related to GW Micro, then please consider sending your message to [email protected] so the entire list will receive it.
