I am sure you have all read the press release announcing the fantastic news of Ai Squared and GW Micro merging into one single company, Ai Squared. We have been getting several emails and tweets asking for more details so I thought I would try to answer the best I can.

To me this merger is a natural fit. Ai Squared, like GW Micro, has a fantastic reputation in the assistive technology field for not only great products, solutions, technical support but also about caring for their customers. These ideals are the foundation of GW Micro and were drop-dead requirements for any merger considerations. We have partnered with Ai Squared in the past and got Window-Eyes to work well with ZoomText but we wanted to go much further. By combining our talents into one company we can provide the total solution from low vision to total blindness. Although the individual products, ZoomText and Window-Eyes, cover a different customer base as sold today, there is an enormous amount of synergy in the development process of the products.

By combining our engineering talents we no longer have to both develop core accessibility components separately. We can combine our talents to create stronger, more innovative products in a more timely manor. Now obviously this isn't a switch we just flip, it will take time to fully integrate and meld into the ideal single entity but the potential is so existing to me personally and hopefully viewed by our existing customer base and our future base.

I want to be perfectly clear that all GW Micro employees are continuing on with the existing Ai Squared team. I will personally continue overseeing the entire development process of Window-Eyes as the Vice President, Engineering, Screen reading. Dan Weirich will be continuing as Vice President, Business Development, Screen Reading. We are committed to the continued development of Window-Eyes and all that goes with that.

I truly believe this merger will give us added abilities not possible as stand alone companies. I hope this puts to rest any concerns you may have with the ongoing development of Window-Eyes. I have the utmost respect for Ai Squared from Dave Wu (President and CEO) to all their employees and look forward to working with all them.

In final thoughts I'm reminded of a quote from Napoleon Hill, "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."

Regards,
Doug
