the only issue about this approach is.
if its running raid 1, replacing with a higher capacity will not full
utilise  its full capacity. rebuilding will be base on its original setup.
even raid 5 or higher configuration will have such problem.

And of course, you can buy your box with the drives pre-installed (I did
that originally), and later I upgraded my sata drives, and I only had to
pull out the old ones and put in the new ones (one at a time), and the box
handled writing the data from the old to the new drive.

And I've used a Linksys NAS 200 for about 8 years, also having a web 
interface.  My sighted tech set it up for me though.  The web interface 
worked pretty much as well as Internet Explorer.

I think you have to accept the possibility that sighted assistance is 
required for installing and configuring units that take SATA hard 
drives.  Who knows, maybe they have improved.  One trick I learned for 
software which starts automatically is that you can often bypass a 
graphical start up screen by looking at the autorun.ini file and see the 
executable it calls, like setup.exe, and then just run that one yorself.
