A program such as a intel adapter could be intercepting the hot keys. You might 
have to disable the hot keys.
First open the control panel.
Next open the display control panel .
Next select the settings tab.
Next select the advance button.
Next select the intel extreme graphics option if you are using a intel video 
adapter.
Next select the graphics properties option.
Next select the hot keys option.
Next uncheck enable hot keys.
