Hi,
Do the following to stop speaking the dash character.
1. Open firefox.
2. Press control-backslash to open the we panel.
3. If you are not set to show advance options, turn them on by pressing alt-h
for help, then move to show advance options. If it is checked just press alt.
If it is not checked, press enter to check it.
4. In the settings tree go to screen/punctuation.
5. There are two ways you can fix the issue.
5a. Tab through the dialog and for each item, locate the program scope button,
just press space to switch it to global and save the settings by tabbing to the
save settings button and pressing enter or press control-s.
5b. switch math punctuation to off.
Note, by default Some punctuation settings for firefox and internet explorer
are set to program specific and turned on.

Hope this helps.

Subject: make it stop saying dash

Hi gang,

Here lately most places I go it keeps saying the dashes. I can't
seem to find out where to turn it off. I suppose it is somewhere in
punctuation but it eludes me. I just started using Firefox, would
that have anything to do with it? I wouldn't think so.
Thanks for any lead.
