Hi Rick,

I assume you're talking about your old XP machines? Could be that they're getting old and the security fixes and/or anti virus updates are slowing them down. I can say that sluggishness is common to my mchines, both of which are three years old and running Windows 7, but this is most common during boot up, for about five minutes or so until software gets initialized. However, throughout my normal working day sluggishness is common, especially surfing the web, as there is a lot of content being sorted by the browser. Patience is key, but it is very common for Window-Eyes to lock up and requiring a reboot.

Hi: I might be in a dialog or IE a example is the WindowEyes main Dialog.
The up, down, left and right arrow keys stop working. Sometimes tab stops working. Sometimes it comes back after a few seconds sometimes if I continue to hit keys it gets tied up for a long time. The mouse keys on the numpad usually keep working ok but sometimes they will lock up as well.
If I fire up JAWS the problem goes away in both jaws and windoweyes.
I also notice this off and on when entering text into the google search box, sometimes I type a letter and have to wait for a few seconds or longer for the letter to register. If I continue typeing without hearing anything many of the letters are not added to the string when speech comes back. Sometimes this goes away after a few ReBoots and it does not happen all the time but when it does happen I ave to leave the machine off for a little while, at least that seemed to work the past couple of times.
Anyway, has anyone run up against something like this?
Is it a script problem or perhaps the elequence speech synth or any other ideas?
