Hi Rod & Hui, It's not the, Update, tab where you find the correct checkboxes, it's the, Updater, tab & the steps are below:
1. Press enter on Malware Bytes in the system tray & arrow to, start scanner, & press enter. 2. With Malwarebytes open, tab until you land on the Exit button. 3. Press the up arrow key once, which will place you on the tabs that contains Scanner, Protection, Update, etc. 4. Hold down the Ctrl key and right arrow to the, Settings, tab. 5. On the Settings tab, tab 1 time & you'll be on the, General tab but, do not tab right here. You want to press, control + right arrow, to the, Updater Settings Tab. Now on the, Updater Settings Tab, tab 1 time to, Download and install program update if available, & uncheck this box. Tab 1 more time to, Notify me when a program update is ready for installation, & uncheck this box as well. 6. Now tab to, Exit, & press enter. Also, after installing Malwware Bytes you will get a message asking you if want to update now, select no, do not update until you have followed the steps above so the program doesn't update to the 2.0 version. HTH Take care. Then click Exit to save your settings. If you don't do that then you will be upgraded to the current version which is not screen reader friendly. However, keep in mind that even though the program will not be updated, the virus definitions will be updated, which is all you need. hth, Rod On 6/16/14 10:57 AM, hui thian wrote: hi, can you please provide the link for both the products? thanks ----- Original Message ----- From: Rod Hutton To: Walt Cone ; [email protected] Sent: Monday, June 16, 2014 9:53 PM Subject: Re: nod 32 antivirus and eset smart security Hi Walt, I find the free Microsoft Security Essentials accessible and adequate for antivirus, and Malware Bytes for spyware; in the case of the latter, stick with version 1.75 for the most accessible solution. hth, Rod On 6/16/14 8:49 AM, Walt Cone wrote: Hi all, I am at the end of my subscription of Vipre and am considering nod32.
